Complaints and appeals

Appeals against an editorial decision
An author may appeal a rejection once, in writing to the Editor-in-Chief (editor@jst.org.in) within 30 days of the decision, stating the grounds for the appeal and answering the reviewers' comments point by point. Appeals are considered only where the author can show a factual error in the review or the decision, or a conflict of interest that was not disclosed. The Editor-in-Chief refers the appeal to an editor not involved in the original decision, who may seek a further review. The outcome is sent to the author within 30 days and is final.

Complaints
Complaints about the conduct of an editor or reviewer, about delays, or about a published article should be sent to editor@jst.org.in. Where the complaint concerns the Editor-in-Chief, it is sent to the publisher at publisher@longmanpublishers.com. Every complaint is acknowledged within five working days and handled in confidence, following the guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The complainant is told the outcome. Concerns about the integrity of a published article are handled under the Crossmark policy (corrections, expressions of concern and retractions).
