The Journal of Science and Technology (JST) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by Longman Publishers. It provides a rigorous, transparent and accessible platform for original research articles, review articles and technical reports across the applied sciences, engineering and technology, and supports researchers, faculty and graduate students in disseminating high-quality scholarly work. Every article is published with a Crossref DOI.

Scope. JST publishes original research in fields including, but not limited to, engineering, computer science, the physical and chemical sciences, the life sciences, agricultural sciences, mathematics and statistics, and the health sciences. Publication frequency and history. JST is published monthly: twelve issues a year, with one volume per calendar year (Vol. 11 is 2026). The journal began in 2016 with a single issue; from 2017 to 2021 it published six issues a year, with occasional special issues, and since 2022 it has published twelve issues a year. Peer review. Every research manuscript undergoes double-blind peer review: reviewer and author identities are withheld from one another throughout. Manuscripts are assessed by a minimum of two independent subject-matter reviewers before an editorial decision is made. Full details are on the Peer Review Policy page.

Open access, licensing and fees. JST is a fully open-access journal: no subscription or paywall restricts access to published content, and the journal charges authors no fees of any kind (see Article Processing Charges). Authors retain copyright of their work, which is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0), permitting free reuse, distribution and adaptation provided the original work is properly cited.

Publication ethics. JST follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Manuscripts are screened for similarity to published work before peer review (see the Plagiarism Policy), and the responsibilities of authors, reviewers, editors and the publisher are set out in the Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement.

Digital preservation. JST content is preserved in Portico, which guarantees long-term access to published articles even if the journal ceases to be published online. Full details are on the Digital Archives page.
