Errata Retractions and Corrigenda Policy

Journal of Science and Technology (JST) is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record. When errors or issues are identified in a published article, JST addresses them through one of the following mechanisms, consistent with COPE guidelines on corrections and retractions:

Erratum
An erratum corrects a significant error introduced during the journal's editing, typesetting, or production process — for example, a formatting error, an incorrectly transcribed figure, or an author affiliation error introduced during production. Authors are given the opportunity to review and confirm proofs before final publication to minimize such errors; where one is identified afterward, JST publishes a formal erratum linked to the original article.

Corrigendum
A corrigendum corrects a significant error made by the author(s) that affects the scientific accuracy, reproducibility, or interpretation of the published work — for example, incorrect data, a flawed calculation, or an author list error. Requests for a corrigendum should be submitted in writing to the editorial office by the corresponding author, along with a clear description of the error and the proposed correction. The Editor-in-Chief will assess the request and determine the appropriate course of action.

Retraction
A retraction is issued when an article can no longer be considered a reliable part of the scientific record. Grounds for retraction include, but are not limited to: clear evidence of research misconduct (such as data fabrication or falsification), plagiarism, duplicate publication, unethical research practices, or major honest errors that fundamentally undermine the article's conclusions. Retractions are handled in accordance with COPE retraction guidelines, and the retracted article remains accessible online, clearly marked as retracted, with the retraction notice linked to the original publication.

Process
All correction and retraction decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief, who may consult with the editorial board and, where relevant, the authors' institution. JST does not remove retracted articles from its archive; the original article and the retraction notice both remain permanently accessible to preserve the transparency of the scholarly record.
