Withdrawal Policy

Authors may request to withdraw their manuscript from consideration at Journal of Science and Technology (JST) at any stage prior to publication. JST does not charge any fee for manuscript withdrawal at any stage of the submission or review process.

Before Peer Review
Authors may withdraw a manuscript freely at any point before it has been assigned to reviewers, by submitting a written request to the editorial office (editor.jst@gmail.com or editor@jst.org.in).

During Peer Review
Authors may still request withdrawal during the peer review process. JST asks authors to provide a brief reason for withdrawal at this stage, to help the journal improve its editorial and review processes, though providing a reason is not a condition for the withdrawal being honored.

After Acceptance, Before Publication
Withdrawal requests after a manuscript has been accepted are discouraged, as they affect reviewers' and editors' time already invested in the manuscript, but will be honored upon written request. JST asks that authors act in good faith and avoid submitting manuscripts they do not intend to see through to publication.

After Publication
Once an article has been formally published, it becomes part of the permanent scholarly record and cannot be "withdrawn" in the traditional sense. If a serious issue is identified post-publication (such as plagiarism, data fabrication, or major ethical concerns), it will be handled in accordance with JST's Errata, Retractions, and Corrigenda Policy and COPE retraction guidelines, rather than simple withdrawal.

Authors seeking to withdraw a manuscript at any stage should contact the editorial office directly, stating the manuscript ID and reason for the request.
